The foundation of the General Clerical Synod of the Liberal Catholic Church (or GCS) was recommanded by the General Episcopal Synod, under the presidence of the Rt. Rev. Tom Degenaars, during its sessions in 2004. The Rev. P. van Gessel was asked to initiate the process leading to the preparation and approval of a Constitution describing its purpose, objectives, competence, and membership.

In order to help the members of the Clergy to particiapte and discuss the various aspects of this important project, pages containing documents and other information will be added to this section of this website, and a dedicated Open Forum is already operational, with the Rev. P. van Gessel as Moderator.

Its is also the wish of the members of the General Episcopal Synod to take steps to improve the communication between all the members of this GCS, without jeopardizing confidentiality.
